Hera is the founder of Chayn, which creates trauma-informed technology to address gender-based violence. Its open source, multilingual guides, courses and resources are created by survivors and allies, guided by feminist principles, and have reached more than half a million users. Chayn aims to work with large tech platforms to incorporate trauma-informed design into their products to prevent and limit online abuse.
Hera is an Ashoka Fellow, a Forbes 30 Under 30, and is on the MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 and European Young Leader lists. She holds degrees in Economics and Psychology, was raised in Pakistan and lives in the UK.
